Co-Funding and Co-Sponsorship Information

The Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is committed to supporting UCSC activities, projects and events that reflect its mission to promote a campus that is diverse, equitable and inclusive.

*We are no longer accepting proposals for co-funding and co-sponsorship for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Activities, projects and events that qualify for co-funding/co-sponsorship should have other funding sources and directly meet at least one of the following criteria:

  1. Foster a more diverse, equitable and inclusive campus environment
  2. Support intellectual dialogue on campus in fields directly related to diversity, equity and inclusion
  3. Bring people of different backgrounds together to participate in a campus event that celebrates and/or advances diversity, equity and inclusion at UCSC

Co-funding and co-sponsorship decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and can take up to two weeks from receipt of proposal. Decisions are made by the Co-Funding Committee, which, for the 2011-12 academic year, consists of Jan Cloud, Arts Division, Joy Lei, Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Michael Yamauchi-Gleason, Porter and Kresge.

Please submit a brief proposal to Joy Lei, Assistant Campus Diversity Officer, at diversity@ucsc.edu.

Proposals should respond to the following:

    • Date/dates of activity, project or event
    • Names of the activity, project or event organizers/leads (include campus affiliations) and/or sponsoring departments/organizations
