Educational Programs & Resources

The Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) offers free innovative learning opportunities that explore history, identity, and inclusion. Our programs provide UC Santa Cruz faculty and staff with the tools to foster belonging and equity in their professional and academic spaces. Whether through self-paced learning or interactive workshops, these programs are designed to deepen understanding and inspire meaningful action.

Histories in Progress: Launching in Spring 2025, this asynchronous educational series explores the diverse stories and cultures that shape our state. Rooted in  VCDEI Anju Reejhsinghani’s expertise in global and diasporic history, this program features nationally renowned scholars and interactive learning formats, including videos, podcasts, and curated readings.

Empowered Together Certificate Program: Launching in Spring 2025, this free 7-week certificate program is designed to strengthen employees’ competencies and capacity in supporting their units’ efforts related to student success, classroom and workplace inclusion, and greater accessibility, all in pursuit of fostering a sense of belonging and building a connected community. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of essential topics in higher education, such as recognizing and minimizing implicit bias and microaggressions, understanding intersectionality, practicing cultural humility, and deploying bystander intervention strategies.
