Heritage Month Celebrations

During the 2024-2025 academic year, the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is centering foodways, sport, the arts, and other cultural expressions among our central themes for heritage month celebrations. Responding directly to student and employee requests for more community-building programming, we hope that our efforts help to  foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity on campus and strengthen bonds among students, faculty, and staff.

This year, ODEI has organized or sponsored events for the following heritage month celebrations:

• Latine Heritage Month (September 15-October 15, 2024)
• Filipinx History Month (October 2024)
• Native American Heritage Month (November 2024)
• Black History Month (February 2025)
• Women’s History Month (March 2025)
• Arab-American Heritage Month (April 2025)
• Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage Month (May 2025)
• Jewish American Heritage Month (May 2025)
• LGBTQI+ Pride Month (June 2025)
• Caribbean-American Heritage Month (June 2025)
